Museum of The Gulf Coast hosts NASA Exhibit: “Exploring The Universe”

Are you studying astronomy in your homeschool this year? Do you have a learner that is fascinated with the outer space? Put this local Southeast Texas exhibit on the calendar for a COOL summer outing when the heat is unbearable or start the school year off with an out-of-this-world outing! (pun intended, thank you, thank you)

June 18 – August 30, 2016 – Exploring the Universe
This exhibit comes from Johnson Space Center. Humans have always scanned the heavens, seeking knowledge about our origins and destiny. Now, with NASA technology to investigate astronomical mysteries, the timeless quest continues. NASA’s series of specialized Earth-orbiting satellites, including the Hubble Space Telescope, help us to explore the patterns and dynamics of the wondrous universe around us.

The Museum of the Gulf Coast offers FREE school/ co-op tours to 3-12th grade students year-round. All tours are led by a docent guide and last approximately 1 1/2 hours. The standard museum tour includes two floors of permanent exhibits in addition to our featured temporary exhibitions. Tours must have a minimum of 10 individuals for group rates to apply. PLEASE NOTE: If your group is more than 30 minutes late, a docent guided tour is not guaranteed

To ensure a date and docent availability we recommend that school groups schedule tours at least two weeks in advance. For our busy spring season it is recommended that tours are scheduled as early as possible.
